Why Online Counselling?

Our online counselling is FREE !!

Maybe you've never reached out to anyone before, and this feels less frightening, safer for you. Maybe you are unable to leave your home. Or maybe there isn't the right person to support you where you live. Online counselling can be an effective way to receive support and guidance to work on your problems.

Some people choose online counselling over face-to-face therapy because they're more comfortable with writing, and feel they can be more honest and open about their problems. Some people find online counselling gives them a way to talk about things that they might not have otherwise talked about. Many people find e-mail counselling preferable because it gives them time to think through what they need to say, and the opportunity to read and re-read their therapist's responses.

What is email counselling?

Online counselling, e-counselling, and e-mail counselling all describe the same thing - counselling services, which are provided online. Online counselling is different than in-person, however, it has been shown to be quite effective for many people. The process of typing an e-mail to a counsellor can be very therapeutic. Developing a therapeutic relationship, whether online or in-person, leads to a deeper exploration of issues.

There are some problems which can't be resolved online. However, if you have a problem that might be better dealt with in-person but you don't feel you can or want to, online counselling might be a good place to begin.

You may mail us as many times as you like, however you will soon see that we will be expecting you to take steps to resolve your concerns. We will not try to resolve the complex issues of your life in one snappy mail, but try to work slowly and meaningfully with you through, and past the issue that has lead you to e-mail us. The more honest and open you are the more easily we can engage the counselling process.

If you are nervous of using the net for counselling, or it is your first time, perhaps it will help if you mail us about a small issue, that is not too scary, and once you have built up some confidence in us, you can tell us about other bigger issues?

Our motto is "if it's important to you, it's important to us".
